Mikalai Statkevich to stay in prison until end of May

Political prisoner Mikalai Statkevich will be kept in custody for another two months – until 29 May. He has been in jail since May 31, 2020.

Statkevich has already begun to get acquainted with the materials of his case, but no one knows when the trial will take place.

The politician’s wife, Maryna Adamovich, recently reported on Facebook that Statkevich’s custody had been extended until May 29. This means that the politician will be behind bars for at least a year without trial: he was arrested on May 31, 2020 and accused of organizing mass riots.

Also, Maryna Adamovich writes that Statkevich “in every letter expresses his support for decent and courageous Belarusians”.
